After the First Job covers first months, managing up, money at work for readers who want the mechanism rather than the recommendation. We would rather explain why something is the case than tell you what to buy.
What we cover
The site is organised into 5 sections:
- First Months — Starting well, and the things a probation period is really measuring.
- Managing Up — Working with a manager rather than around one.
- Money At Work — Salary, benefits, reviews and how compensation is actually decided.
- Moving On — Knowing when to go, and leaving without burning anything down.
- Skills — What to get good at when nobody is assigning you a curriculum.
Working life and workplace money. Household money is Dollars & Decisions. Keeping the remit narrow is deliberate; a title that covers everything covers nothing well.
How we work
We check things. When a subject is genuinely unsettled, the piece says it is unsettled rather than picking the tidier answer. When advice depends on your circumstances — and it usually does — the article says which circumstances matter.
Our full editorial policy sets out how pieces are researched, reviewed and corrected.
How this site is funded
The site is funded by advertising. Advertising has no influence over what we cover or what we conclude, and no advertiser sees an article before it is published. Nothing on this site is sponsored content, and if that ever changes it will be labelled clearly at the top of the piece.
Who publishes it
After the First Job is published by Gupta Media Labs, a business owned and run by Tanya Gupta, registered in Faridabad, Haryana, India. It has been publishing since 2021.
The registered address appears on our contact page and in our terms and conditions. The quickest way to reach the editorial desk is the form on the contact page, or editorial@afterthefirstjob.com.
